GRAMMAR REVIEW: PREPOSITIONS OF TIME

The most common prepositions of time are:

AT
Used for specific times.
at 7:00, at noon, at midnight, at sunrise
Also for some fixed expressions: at the weekend, at Christmas (UK)

ON
Used for days and dates.
on Monday, on my birthday, on July 4th, on the weekend (US)

IN
Used for longer periods of time.
Months: in March
Years: in 2025
Seasons: in winter
Parts of the day: in the morning / afternoon / evening
Long periods: in the past, in the future

OTHER COMMON PREPOSITIONS OF TIME

BEFORE: earlier than something
AFTER: later than something
DURING: throughout a period or event
UNTIL: up to a certain point in time
BY: not later than (deadline)
FOR: duration
SINCE: starting point until now
